Field Trips

During a field trip or tour to UGArden, students and participants explore the farm while learning about sustainable agriculture, nutrition, and community food systems. Our hope is for everyone to walk away with a general understanding of how healthy soils help healthy crops feed healthy people.
Field trips are structured according to K-12 grade-level, group size, and crop seasonality! Activities may feature the topics of cooking and nutrition, herbs and teas, compost and cover crops, or beneficial insects.
Field trips are offered at different rates per student depending on the length of time of the trip, and activities planned. All teachers, parents, and chaperones attend for free.
Field Trip Rates:
- $5 per student for 45 minute- 1 hour long tour
- $8 per student for a tour and hands-on activities, 90 minutes- 2 hours
Optional Fee:
$2 per student/individual for eating outdoor lunch at UGArden (UGArden does not provide lunch/ 1 hour)
We prefer to schedule these trips on Tuesday or Thursday mornings, and would ask that these trips be booked 1-2 months in advance.
UGArden is not open for field trips in the months of December, January, or February.
