Field Trips
During a field trip to UGArden, students explore the farm while learning about sustainable agriculture, nutrition, and community food systems. Our hope is for students to walk away with a general understanding of how healthy soils help healthy crops feed healthy people.
Field trips are structured according to grade-level, group size, and crop seasonality! Activities may feature the topics of cooking and nutrition, herbs and teas, compost and cover crops, or beneficial insects.
Field trips are offered at a flat rate of $5 per student on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Teachers, parents, and chaperones attend for free.
Visits run between 1-2 hours and can accommodate up to 60 students. Participants will be divided into groups and led through hands-on activities.
