HORT 3920: UGArden Internship

The UGArden Internship is a semester long, 10 hour/week commitment in which students work with the UGArden team to power operations while learning how to run an organic farm. Students learn the ins-and-outs of organic food production, including how to operate equipment, apply fertilizers, sow seed and harvest produce.

Weekly Work Requirement: 10 hours per week at the farm (150 hours total over the semester)

  • 9 hours: Farm work
  • 1 hour: Intern meeting

Shift Options: You can choose from 3 of our 3-hour shifts each week to meet the 10-hour requirement. You can select two shifts on the same day (morning and afternoon) or spread them out over three different days (morning or afternoon).

These shifts are available Monday through Friday (M-F):

  • Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon Shift: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The UGArden Internship is an approved activity for the Experiential Learning Scholarship. Prospective interns can apply to receive funding for an upcoming semester.
